SAMUEL RIMLAND | DIRECTOR
Samuel Rimland is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, USA.
His passion for making images move began some time in the mid-1990’s when, as a toddler, he discovered the RECORD button on the webcam of the family Windows 95. He has since scaled up, receiving an MFA in film from Columbia University and directing for brands that include MasterCard, Verizon, Fujifilm, L'Oréal, Chick-fil-A, Gillette, HomeGoods, New York Lottery, U.S. Bank, and Hornitos. His work has received recognition from the Effie, AICP, One Show, Clio, D&AD, Webby, ADC, and ANDY Awards.

Samuel’s commercial work is marked by a penchant for storytelling, with each creative choice crafted to deliver narrative resonance and a human touch. His approach is holistic, integrating color, character, and a love of small details to create pieces that are cinematically layered and fresh. A borough native, Samuel draws upon the tempo and ethos of his hometown to foreground the human element of any story, combining imaginative visuals with personality.

When not behind a camera, Samuel is a just-fine pianist but claims he played concert halls back in high school. His choice pizza is Tottono’s of Coney Island, he appreciates the GZA but prefers Raekwon, and his favorite planet is Neptune though he gives Venus its props for marbling and maybe alien life.
